Can't believe the previous reviews of La Terrasse on here, if I hadn't already known this place they would definitely have put me off. As it turns out I frequently go along for their fantastic set lunch, nowhere nearby beats it for truly authentic French cuisine. They always seem reasonably busy so I don't think I'm alone in that opinion and I have yet to experience any 'attitude' from the manager and his friendly service staff.

Although the food is good by HK standard, we will NEVER go back to this restaurant and neither should you. The French manager is the most arrogant French I have ever met. We felt most unwelcome in this restaurant as we are not gweilos like everyone else there. No apologies from this French manager after spilling champagne TWICE on our guests, definitely not something that's expected at this supposedly refined establishment. Moreover he told us we could upon our request move to a table outside but that we should not disturb other guests!!!! This was rounded off by a comment from him, en francais bien sur, that one of our guests was rude, but how should a woman react when a restaurant manager attempts to take her handbag from her unexpectedly???? NEVER go to this restaurant unless you want to spend $$$ and be treated like second class citizens.

I have tried this restaurant 2 times and everytime was a disappointment. Rude staffs with a 'knows it all' attitude. Food is very expensive and not very fresh. My wife was sick for 3 days on our second visit. Honestly, unless you have a suicidal tendancy I do not recommend it!
How come they are still in business?
