This is not really a restaurant but a typical British Chippy with seating. I ahve never been to a chippy in the uK where you get great service and they always tend to serve everyone at once so I was not at all surprised when it happened here.
I did not have pie so can not comment but my chips were wonderful. I don't go there often but when I need some good stodgy comfort food this place hits the right spot !!!
Poor service and dry pies - for this, it is too expensive. I went to try this restaurant after reading a review in HK Magazine listing restaurants in HK that serve British food. The thought of a good pie or some bangers and mash sounded great. As I came into the restaurant, it really came across as a typical Fish n Chips joint - just like you'll find them in England. I sat down in a cosy chair and scanned the menu - everything looked delicious. They even say they have "real mashed potatoes".

My fiancee who joined me wanted to get a pie with a mashed potato topping so I asked the waitress (there's only one) which pies had that. She had no clue what I was talking about - seems like all their pies are the pastry variety (i.e. you won't find shepherd's pie, cottage pie etc.). So my fiancee ended up ordering a Vegetable Pie. I wanted to get the Bangers and Mash, but the waitress told me they weren't serving any Mashed Potatoes at all...so much for advertising it. I settled for a Meat Lasagne and Coke instead.

The Vegetable Pie came after about 5 minutes - very fast. It was rather small though (size of my fist) and I felt like it was a frozen pie that you can buy from the supermarket. It was very dry and the gravy that it was supposed to come with was almost non-existent. The pie came with mushy peas and chips on the side. These were brilliant, but the pie was really quite bad.

My Meat Lasagne never came - I thought it was baking but when I asked the waitress about it, her eyes went round and she said 'whoops'. I told her that if she forgot to put it down, she could forget about it - my lunch hour was practically over. She even forgot my order of Coke which she quickly got from the fridge.

When the waitress was taking my order, she kept leaving to deliver food to other customers - all while I was still in the middle of giving her my order. I didn't feel well served at all. There were about 10 people having lunch there - maybe just a bit too many for a single waitress.

Overall, to say that my experience was a bad one is an understatement :cry . Of course, maybe I should have just ordered the Fish n Chips (it IS called Chippy and the chips that came with our pie were yum!). I felt that the food was too expensive given the poor quality and service that I got. I would dare to go again just to try their Fish n Chips though.
A small fish 'n chip shop that wouldn't look out of place in the U.K. Has the typical cooking/serving bar, and about 4 kitchen style rectangular wooden tables for four, plus a few for two... Went there earlier this week for lunch with a colleague.. Had the 'special' (about HK$75)...Vegetable soup (a bit thin.. sort of Chinese style, but still good) , bread and butter, Fish (Perch) Chips and Salad, and (not included) a tea (good and strong).
Good stuff.. I've also tried this place a fair few times for other fish (such as Cod), and for their pies (including vegetable pie) and sausages.. It's also of course got all the essential condiments including Brown sauce and Tartar sauce....
Enjoyed it every time I.ve been.. I.m a faaan... I'll give it 4 out of 5.

(NB This place may also be of special interest to those British that have just arrived from the U.K. and are in the .Where can I find British this?... Where can I find British that?... Where's Marks and Spencer.s?. homesick phase of life... BTW Marks and Spencer.s is about 10 minutes walk away... )
