Big Ernie’s Diner, Wanchai’s brand new casual restaurant, adds a sense of nostalgic fun to the booming bar and entertainment district. Decked out in Art Deco-style gleaming stainless steel, wood paneling and comfortable silver-blue booth seats, the restaurant evokes an air of 1950s Americana, where the local diner is the town’s favourite hangout and everyone pops in for a burger and shake, or a sandwich and dessert.
Big Ernie’s menu offers tasty American fare which is simple and unpretentious. Specialties include Finger lickin’ good (Buffalo wings smothered in spicy, honey mustard sauce or Igor’s spice powder) and Clam chowder.
