Went for a bit of food and drink one evening this week with a couple of friends ... .Old American Diner. Style, opening out to the street...
Video jukebox with a large screen above the bar belted out songs from past decades to current day, including the Jackson five, Abba, The Bangles (I'd forgotten how good looking these women were), and Eminem... Gives quite a fun lively atmosphere to the place... It's also a chance to get away from the same old lagers (Fosters, Carlsberg, Stella yawn yawn).. and so I went for Hoegaargen followed by the contrasting taste of a bottle of Sam Adams. both beers fresh, cool enough and went down well... (Beer price about HK$50 each). For dinner I went for the Greek Omelette (plenty of olives and generous slices of Feta Cheese)... served with vedge and potatoes... Not bad at all.... (Price about HK$90) I find this bar a relaxing, uplifting and fun bar with good beer (well I like Sam Adams beer), fun music and a good mixed crowd. I.ve come here on and off for many years and will continue to do so. (3.5 out of 5, so I'll give it 4) bypaula, March 6, 2003
Although I've never personally set foot in this bar I definately do not plan to! Ordered food from food by fone - yuck! French Fries were so miniscule, like they'd been cooked a few days ago and heated up in the microwave - hence their shrunken appearance! Garlic Bread consisted of a hot dog roll toasted. Chilli was edible. Chicken wings floating in oil. Plus - they forgot to deliver the beers - which when mentioned turned up about 45 minutes later. Never again!
