Recently opened in the penthouse of One Peking Road, this newest venture by the people who brought us Aqua in Central offers Italian and Japanese food with spectacular views from 21 foot windows. Upstairs from Aqua Roma and Aqua Tokyo is Aqua Spirit where hanging beads and purple couches provides lush surroundings for drinking and lounging to the music provided by Djs and VJs.

Haha, ok so I went in a little unprepared for what I was to find it as. I didn't look up how great the restaurant is or the price of it but I decided since it was recommended in a thread I'd go try it. Anyway, the view is incredible, the lighting is very romantic and the service I received was pretty good. Of course I got there quite early so the place was pretty empty when we first arrived, but eventually the whole place filled up around 7:30 pm. I wasn't notified ahead of time but yes there is a minimum charge of $380 per head so take into consideration what you order. What I found weird was what I ordered came around 20-30 minutes before what my friend ordered. I said the service was pretty nice, but from what I could see, the waitress/waiters though had decent service...were around a bit too often. I felt as if I had no privacy and does ruined the mood a bit. However, they were very polite and was easily accessible.
If you want to overspend on your food, get bad service and be rushed through your dinner for no apparently reason, then Aqua in TST is definitely what you are after. :upset

My husband booked dinner for us there because the view was nice. That really is the only thing going for this place. It was a Tuesday night. My husband was told that there would be a HK$380 minimum spend per head when he reserved the table. When we arrived, I only wanted a glass of plain water to wet my mouth before settling into a nice bottle of wine but was told they do not serve plain water. Instead, I could pay over the odds for a bottle of water. The lady at the next table managed to get a glass of warm water, but when she wanted a refill, I overheard a discussion between the waiter and the manager as to whether or not she should be allowed one! On top of all this, our 3 courses were rushed through in 40 minutes and I am quite a slow eater as it is. They definitely did not need our table for someone else; the table next to us was vacant for at least 20 minutes before being filled. I did not want to make a fuss on the night as it was my birthday and my husband had chosen the restaurant. Instead, I emailed Aqua the following day, requesting specifically for them to send me a reply. It has been over a week now and they do not even have the decency to write back. I will never return to this restaurant, and will never suggest anyone go there either. There are plenty of brilliant restaurants in Hong Kong where you get the enjoyable experience you should receive when dinning out.
