been twice--always good fun watching your shashlik being doused in vodka and set light, but more importantly the food is good and the prices are modest

There are far too many mediocre restaurants in HK, we don't need another one, yet disappointingly that is exactly what we found Cru to be. The bruschetta was soggy and uninteresting, for the main I had the supposedly crusted lamb, though I could barely find any crust on it and the roasted potatos weren't properly cooked. I can't remember what my wife ate now but she was disappointed too. Definitely won't be going back.

This place used to be great but has really slipped. We've had everything from the wrong order turning up, over-pushy waiters repeatedly asking if we want more drinks, and chateaubriand that tasted like a chewy old flank. I'll put my money on the original chef having moved on.
I also have to agree with others on the space: it's so crammed you might as well order takeaway and eat it on the MTR. |
