Page 1 of 7  We were recently offered a chance to test the newly released HSDPA service from SmarTone-Vodafone, here in Hong Kong. On paper, this service looks like it could just be the first new thing with potential, to come out in years.
Over the last several years, we’ve been disappointed by virtually every “next new thing” that has been promised to us by the mobile operators – GPRS, 3G, Email and recently digital TV on the phone.
Following our review, Smartone-Vodafone's CEO, Mr Douglas Li has sent us a response -- with their view on some of the comments we made.
Most of these features look good and seem to have that potential, but end up being more high maintenance than Paris Hilton.
So, did we get all giggly after a week of using the HSDPA service? Or did we figure it was time to call in the lawyers to put an end to what looked like a marriage made in heaven?
