In reality...CC's cheaper than manufacturers?

...is it really going to be possible to buy computer periphals (mice, keyboards, memoy sticks etc) from WanchaiCC, MongkokCC or any of those places for less than the producers sell them on their website?

I appreaciate it probably depends on what item your after, im sure that you can get some stuff - esp that not availabe directly - but lets say - hyperthetically, a friend of mine was thinking about splashing out on a lavish new mouse from say, Logitech, is there any chance it would be cheaper from a local retailer than the website (and not have had the laser swapped for a cheapo optical)?

Resellers and distributors usually get pretty huge margins. I'd not worry about it too much ...

oml : depends where you bought your gear from.

The other day I was looking for a battery for the motherboard (dead bios). One shop wanted to charge me $200 and I finally just walked into one of the batterycollection outlets and bought it for $7.

I've found 298 cheaper than wanchai CC which is cheaper than Causeway Bay CC for components and systems (Atleast the stuff I browse for.. hard disks / memory etc)

Yerh.... im actually looking to get a decent new mouse (before i throw my *%$£ packard bell cheapola wireless one through my monitor)...

Really tempted by a shiney new 'laser' tech Logitech one (though i think microsoft, razor and someone else use this to now) but cant really justify spending more than £40 on it (its a mouse!) and the cheapest websites dont seem to deliver to HK...

(p.s. sorry this isnt on devlib but couldnt find a 'peripheries' section)

Hey LM, you might want to check out some IT forums for others' experience with their mice. I use ARS and 2cpu.

LM : If you're serious about RSI .. consider using a Logitech trackball ...

Hey, couldnt find many posts relating to mice on those forums (i guess its not a very exciting topic) but what I did find along with some review sites suggests something with on-the-fly dpi adjustment is the way to go, having to switch between a trackball and unsensitive mouse is impossible!

So, KIA, your saying that WCC, the 188 etc, arent going to be much cheaper than a manufacturers website? Its not so much RSI by the way as sheer frustration trying to use photoshop etc, and i've all but given up on FPS and the like now...

The cheapest on Hong Kong side should be the computer center on 298 Hennessey Road. Lots of small shops there .. walk around and compare.

Depending on the product, they should be cheaper than the list price on the manufacturer's site.
