Hi I have just been offered a job in hong kong they will be paying me $16,000HK, I have understood that the cost of living in Hong Kong is very high, would $16000 be enough money for me to pay rent and expenses and have some money for entertaining. How much is to rent aflat???

The first problem might be getting a visa, unless you have some extremely special skills. HK$16K is probably not in the range where you can get a visa.

Rent and flats will depend on where you work and how much you can travel AND if you're willing to share.

But they don't have to pay for rent in most cases.

Paul where did you get the figure of average hh income in HK being $10 k a month ? From the figures I've seen it used to be $22 k two years back and is about $20 k now.
