Eating out after wedding

My girlfriend and I are going to HK in August and plan to get married there. It'll just be the two of us. No friends or family, but we still want to make it an occasion, so after the actual wedding at the church we want to have a nice dinner, just the two of us.

What's a good place to go, and do we have to make reservations?
We don't have any specific preferences, so suggestions are welcome.

What we don't want however is to get stressed out after the wedding because we can't find a suitable place, don't know where to look etc.

Is it common to make reservations in HK? Do we need to do that?

We haven't thought about any specific type of food yet, but perhaps a good idea to make it special and memorable, having our wedding in a special place like HK, would be to have a nice Chinese dinner. Only that we wouldn't know what do order.
Is there something special Chinese dishes we could have for this occasion? We'll surely be eating a lot of Chinese food during that month, but we would like this meal to be different.

Budget.... I don't know what price range HK has for eating out, so it's hard to say, but being a young couple we don't have unlimited funds. We'll be staying at some cheap place (such as Mirador mansions or whatever) to save money so that we can experience as much as we can instead of paying for an expensive hotel, which also means that we can have a nice meal now and then -and of course for this occasion.
How much should we expect to pay for a special meal in HK?
Just so we get a rough idea.

Hey pacman,

KIA asks good questions; I'm just going to presume you want something upmarket for the special occasion. My wife and I went to a restaurant called Petrus at the Shangri-la for my birthday and it was unbelievable. Site is here:

http://www.shangri-la.com/hongkong/i...x.aspx?ID=1387

It was expensive: about $4000HK for the two of us including a not-too-expensive bottle of red. I can tell you it was worth every bit, though (especially the duck). Other than that, there's Isola, which is more Mediterranean...

...and about half the price (also with good duck!). I don't know much other than that as I'm pretty new to HK.

Both have stylish atmospheres, great views and decent service. Quality is of course better at Petrus but it depends on your budget; Isola's still a nice place. Hope you find somewhere good! I'm getting hungry now...

Edit: just saw your second message, looks like I guessed wrong!

I just came across this website which explains which dishes are traditionally served at a Chinese wedding and although having all of them is probably a bit too much for just two people we could have for example the shark's fin soup (is it very expensive?), the Peking duck and the sweet red bean soup and sweet buns sounds delicious! If that doesn't fill us up I'm sure we could always find something in addition

The question however is: where can we go to book a table and when there, ordering in English as neither of us speaks Cantonese?
And while booking, perhaps we could also book ahead the dinner itself, seeing what they have and how much it costs.

We're staying in Tsim Sha Tsui, but anywhere not too far away would be fine.
