Seeking a Medical Job

I am an UK medical graduate who is working in New Zealand at the moment and am looking for a medical job in Hong Kong. May anyone point me in the right direction in regard of looking for a job once I am registered in HK?

Thanks,

Wai

hi

really depends on what kind of doctors you want to be.

training in clinical speciality - almost all in hospital based under Hospital Authority.

the Department of Health also offer jobs.

private sectors definitely.

academic institutes may also recruit researchers or profs.

um....you have check out the websites and postings in newspaper.

let me know if you need further advise. goodluck

Hi
Unless you secure a job with the University (either Hong Kong Univ or Chinese University at Shatin) you will need to go the other route which means, you are classed as an 'overseas graduate' and will have to pass the medical council's licensing examination + complete a 12 months internship in a government hospital. (difficult tho not imposs without Cantonese)
The regulations changed in HK for UK graduates now.
hope this helps -there's another thread about this)
If you go for a University post you will get temporary registration.
For any private hospital you need full registration (the exam/housejob route)
