What range price are you looking at? Gueshouse or 5*?

Actually I prefer some nice boutique hotels or 5 stars would be fine. Budget is approx. US100/night/room.

yeah halong bay seems to be the must excursion.

having been on a 2 day trip to halong, one day is prob enough unless you stay in a nice boat during the good season - i was gutted that it was too cold to go for a dip in the bay -

also, on a cloudy day, you'll see nothing, so choose a fine day.

hanoi is so much more chilled that saigon...a great city.
