Going to HK to Learn Chinese

Hi, i am planning on going to hong kong in july and probably going to stay for few months. I am 19 years old and chinese. I can speak cantonese fluently, but need some brushing up on my writing, well maybe need a lot of brushing up. I was born in hk but i moved to US when i was 7. I will be staying at my aunt's place for the time being. My question is are there places where i can learn chinese super fast! Maybe a city university? i saw a link awhile ago http://www.hkllc.com/ is this place any good? If anyone have a recommendation feel free to reply. price range for these classes would be a great help too. thx!

If i were you, I would steer well clear of that place. It is a rip-off. If you really want good lessons go to the Chinese University and learn, not only do they have good tutors but they know what they are teaching.

Message me if you want any more information or advice.

Thumbs up Hong Kong Language Learning Centre

I think HKLLC is good. There are many positive comments l have heard from them. You may check their www.hkllc.com site, there is a page: words from students. You can find some references.

Chinese University is good though, however, it is more academic and for me too many students in a class. I would prefer to learn a language with smaller class.

If you are hesitate, just arrange a trial lesson first with HKLLC. Personally, l prefer HKLLC than other centers l have tried.

If you speak Cantonese fluently, there shouldn't be need for formal instruction on reading/writing Chinese. You already have the fundamentals on grammar and it's just a matter of rote memorizing hundreds of Chinese characters. You can do this by buying some good books and learning on your own.

So I wouldn't go to Hong Kong specifically to learn Chinese. But if you're going to be there anyway for other reasons, I guess taking a few classes won't kill ya'.
