Another England Supporter Hi! I've just become a member of the geoexpat forum...all because I need some mates to watch the World Cup with. Just got back from the UK and the football fever is definitely on. Feeling a bit gutted that I'm not there. Anyway, will be keen to meet up for the first England game. So, keep me posted.

Skidz / Les Visages: Location of first week of World Cup outings I have been trying to find suitable venues for the geoexpat World Cup outings but with limited success. During my search, I discovered that a number of prominent HK bars do not have cable TV and will therefore, not show the majority of matches. Even some that have cable, will play music instead of commentary for all but the important matches. Finally, it is virtually impossible to book a private room for a large group gathering in a bar, which has i-cable and plans to broadcast the matches with commentary on. For week 1 of the World Cup, I have asked Skidz in Wan Chai to reserve tables under my name for the first match of each evening. This means the opening match (Friday, June 9 from 11p.m.) and for the 9p.m. matches from Sunday, June 11 to 16. There is a minimum consumption of $100 per person of per game; please confirm your attendance in this thread: Information about: World Cup Outings through June 20 The England-Paraguay match is too popular for us to reserve tables at a single venue. I have made a booking for 10 persons at Al's Diner (across from Bar George, which apparently won't show the World Cup) at 11 p.m. on Saturday and am also trying to find out if the newly reopened Dublin Jack (above Bulldog's) will take reservations for that evening. ...will keep you posted. In the event that it doesn't work out, I recommend we try to get to there early as walk-in customers.

England - Paraguay match in LKF Hey, anyone interested to join me at Al'Diner (across from Bar George) in Lan Kwai Fong on Saturday night from 8p.m. onwards, send me a PM. I have a few reserved seats to give away. Our tables are facing the big screen behind the counter; no booths because the viewing angle is a bit awkward. For all other matches of week 1, I've made arrangements to watch them in the Les Visages room at Skidz, 18 Fenwick St. (corner of Jaffe Rd). The reservation is in my name (Axel) but please send me a PM or sign up through the other thread (Information about: World Cup Outings through June 20) beforehand. This is especially important if you want to come watch the second England match on Thursday next week. Thanks.
