prevent mold

When you go away on a 1 week vacation, do you leave Aircon or dehumidifier on in order to prevent mold? Just need to know if there are any necessary measures in this matter, so we don't come back to a problem.

Get the disposable ones from your local supermarket and start using them a few days before you go away.

Best not to leave any electrical appliances on for that length of time as its a fire hazard too.

I thought the disposable ones are for closets and drawers? What about the rest of the house? Don't we need to worry about the walls molding?

A week's vacation is hardly enough time for some serious molding problems to occur unless you live near a park or the seafront. As Jimbo recommended, get yourself a lot of those disposable dehumidifiers (they're cheap!). They
ll do the job just fine.

Before you leave, close your windows, dehumidify all your rooms first with the electric dehumidifier before you use the portable ones. Place them all around your home and enjoy your vacation.
