Visa required for connection flights in Taipei? Hiya, I've a flight to the States (US citizen) this June with a connection in Taipei. I can't seem to find information online suggesting that I need a visa to land and connect to my onward flight to LAX to confirm that any type of landing/transit visa is required Some of you have probably made similar connections in Taiwan in route to North America. Were you able to pass straight through, or did you need to arrange some kind of landing visa? My flight is with China Airlines [Hong Kong --> Taipei --> Los Angeles] and return flight is the same route. Thanks, -Brad

I don't think you'll need a visa. If you don't pass through Taiwanese customs, you are theoretically, not really on Taiwanese soil.

As a US Citizen you don't need a visa to enter Taiwan as a visitor anyway, so clearly you don't need one for a transit.
