i need to clean my walls!!!

My boyfriend and I have just noticed hundreds of very tiny bugs near the top of our walls in our bedroom. (NB, this is not caused by dirt, I'm almost neurotically clean, so our flat is spotless) I want to clean the walls, and hopefully get rid of these things that way, but we don't know how. I'm scared that if I use water it'll soak into the wood, and HKs humidity will cause it to mold. But I'm also scared to use any sort of cleaning products, because I don't want to strip the paint. Can anybody help?

try watered down bleach or something like that to clean the walls, Also make sure you have a decent working dehumidifier in the room to get rid of the excess moisture in the air.

And check for large gaps in window frames etc to see where the bugs might be coming from and block up the hole etc.

You can also try (bleach is great) 3 parts vinegar to 10 parts water and wash with sponge.

Do make sure that these are just "bugs" and not termites. From what you have written, I am guessing your wall is made of wood -- a sure termite territory.

its the humidity. u have to get urself a dehumidifier or keep all your windows wide open. your choice. an air conditioner dehumidifies too...but ud have to keep it on almost all day to keep the room dry...i keep 3 fans and an extractor fan running in my bedroom at all times...im not using the ac in my bedroom this year. i keep the windows wide open too. if your walls are painted and you wipe those bugs down, they're gonna stain the paint. its best that you just lower the humidity. hope this helps

Thanks, guys!

Termites...hadn't even thought of that!...what do they look like? And how do I find out if that's what it is or not? We're only in town for another three months, is that worth paying all the big bucks for a dehumidifier?

A lot of bugs need the humidity to survive, which is why a dehumidiier works.
Something in your apartment is attracting them, though. Would be great to find the entry point and the attaction and shut them down.
Just google termites for pictures/write ups. Having termites would be bad for you and any neighbors and you would think the landlord would want to know. I wouldn't describe termites as "tiny", but I guess that depends on your perspective.

Sleuth, the way you worded that makes me think you should be a screen play writer !!! Funny but real.

Termites - the ones that ate Hong Kong.
