Post Looking for Wood Filler in HK

I know it's a bit of a strange request, but I can't find wood filler anywhere in HK. In England we use brands such as Cuprinol or Unibond.

Could anyone suggest a place where I might be able to get it. City Super could offer it, but thought I'd ask you guys first.

A little bit closer to home...

Walk down the escalator, turn left left right AFTER Dublin Jacks and keep walking towards Sheung Wan. I think its Stanley Street you need to be on. You'll find a bunch of hardware and wood stores who might be able to help you.

Nope they don't sell it, mostly they deal with cutting timber and surprisingly don't stock wood filler (The street was one road up from Stanley St). I tried in Causeway Bay too, no luck there so I'll get it exported over from England. Shame really. Thanks anyway

Hi there,
Do you know about B&Q in Guangzhou, and B&Q online in Hong Kong? I found this today. Actually, your request is not strange at all. I have the same problems. I am building a deck and I need a wood coating. I've got Cuprinol from one of Focus stores (Ashford, Middx.), but not enough of course. It is complicated to carry this kind of stuff. Cuprinol has a wide range of product for wood.
you may look into this URL: http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/templa...enu=aboutbandq

Chinese are not quiet DIY, but B&Q already have 18 stores in China.

Cheers,
Paulo

Hi again,

I think B&Q is part of Kingfisher Group, so in HK and China we might have to look into Kingfisher. The contact for Kingfisher Asia in HK is:

Kingfisher Asia
21/F Cornwall House
979 Kings Road
Taikoo Place
Quarry Bay
Hong Kong
Tel: +852 2378 1000

There is another contact for "B&Q Asia" in HK:
B&Q Asia Ltd

Suites 1309-10
13/F Lincoln House
979 King's Road
Taikoo Place
Quarry Bay
Hong Kong
Switchboard: + 852 2219 5000
Fax: + 852 2219 9807

They might help you to find what you are looking for.

Adress in Shanghai:
Kingfisher Asia, Shanghai
Room 501, B&Q Pudong Commercial Building,
393 Yian Xiao Road,
Pudong New Area
Shanghai
201204

Tel: +86 21 5059 0011

They are also in Guangzhoou, I think.

I think my previous message is incorrect. I think there is no B&Q in HK yet, but I am still checking. Since I am looking for wood protective materials, if I find something I will drop something here.

Paulo

Correct there is no b&q in HK, ever thought about Ikea? They sell wood flooring so I'm sure they'd stock protective varnishes etc.

There are a few IKEA in HK as you might know, but they don't sell that kind of stuff. But here it is. I made a better search and I found that B&Q have 3 stores in Shenzhen! From HK to Shenzhen is not a big deal, though I have never been there.

Check this out:
http://www.bnq.com.cn/website/BnqEng...p_shenzhen.asp

One can get Shenzhen B&Q spots from the above URL (B&Q LUO HUO, B&Q NAN SHAN STORE, B&Q TAI RAN stores). Luo Huo Store is the largest with 22,000 M2.

In case that we don't find what we are looking for, B&Q may connect with other vendors' databases in order to supply additional products through special orders.

Cheers

Take someone who speaks Chinese with you if you're going to Shenzhen, you'll need it. I need to go up there myself, I wanna see what Walmart has :P Get a body massage while you're up there, you'll love it. lol. Shenzhen rocks! be careful though, friend of mine from denmark just got robbed up there....Luo Hu is close to the border, so it's nice and near.

Red face

I bought a bottle of wood filler at some store on Lockhart Road (between Canal Road and Tonnochy Road, I think). The whole street is filled with shops carrying materials for home renovation. Let me know if you can't find it and I'll dig out the address for you.
