I am planning on going to Shenzhen; however I am wondering if anyone can tell me how to get there and the process of getting there. Visa? Cost? Transport?

Cool Visa at border

Hi guys,
I have quite the same question : my Gf and I hold german and french passeports and we wanna spend a traditional shopping week end in shenzhen.
Can we get both of us the visa at the border and for which price?
Heard different stories with Hk450 and/or Hk150... depends on where you had the bad luck to born
thanks for your help!

Try to get the Visa in advance not at the border. You will save at least a few hundred for that. You can go to Wanchai or Mongkok etc- those China Travel Service (HK) Ltd offices to get your Visa. Details: http://www.chinatravel1.com/english/...hinesevisa.htm

Unfortunately....the link didn't work. So.....my Thai visa is running out....the Chinese embassy in Bangkok is closed for a week. I am going to have to fly to Hong Kong and get my Chinese visa there. What is the best...cheapest fastest way to do this starting from the airport.

I know this question has probably been answered a million times....

Thanks for any help....I'm sort of under the gun..

Robin

The link is valid and works for me - CTS is probably the best place to get a visa in advance, but more or less any travel agent will arrange it for a fee. Even your hotel concierge would (for a bigger fee, no doubt). Processing within half a day is possible - the quicker you want it the more you pay.

Sorry would not recommend CTS

Hi there,

I am really sorry but I would not recommend using CTS. I tried to get visas there for me and my boyfriend awhile back. First of all I was told I could not have a multiple entry visa (which I can) and his visa was going to be 850 HK dollars since he is from Tanzania. I went to the Chinese Visa place which is next to Immigration Tower in Wanchai. They gave me a multiple entry visa and also my boyfriend one an his costr under 400 HK dollars instead of 850. Just a bit of difference in price! So it is best to shop around or go to the Chinese Embassy direct.
If you are English you can get a visa for Shenzen only at the border at Lo wu but it costs $450! I am afraid I do not know the price for French or German passports at the border

I just posted this link on another thread:

http://www.chinavisa.com.hk/

I used these guys recently. Service was very professional and efficient - $280 for double entry with a one day turn around (dropped off my passport at 3 pm, picked up at 6pm the following day). They're located in the main tower of the same building that houses the official China immigration authoirty hence the cheapness and turn around times.
