There's this book called the Photoshop7 for dummies, think that will be more helpful

With photoshop, everything is pretty basic, you can easily read through the chapters and practise on the computer. If you want something more specific like graphic design, that's different. Check out HKUSPACE for part time course.

I learned a lot from the Photoshop Wow (dumb name) series. Skip the classes and buy the books...they should include practical "how to" exercises, so you are practicing on real world projects.

Most courses here are run in Cantonese. I find pretty much all I need to know on the web- like Punk says, practical 'how to' exercises are the best and if you find one that is applicable to what you need then you are targetting your learning.
The Adobe website has forums where you can search and post but it is a very outdated style so can be frustrating.
There is so much to learn on PS and what works for a graphic designer may not be applicable to someone in pre-press or photography and vice versa.

Obviously a very talented individual, but it reminds me of something Santana said when he listened to Mariah Carey- Why use 20 notes when you can use one and sound better?
You'd think a talented airbrush artist could do the same in half the time at a third of teh cost. Unless, of course, he was doing it because he could! In which case it is even more impressive!

Here's one for you:

It's in Elements rather than Creative Suites though.

Have you also considered video lessons on DVD?

Here's an IT training centre in Central that does Photoshop courses. I'm a trainer there and I've taught them before.

Good luck
