Breaking contracts.... I am leaving HK as of next month. I am signed up with PCCW, Netvigator and Sunday for one year usage contracts which I will have to break after only 6 months. There is a penalty charge for doing so and I was wondering what happens if I don`t pay it. Will I just be blacklisted with them or will they take it further and try to recover the penalty? Can anyone advise from experience?

they'll probably try and recover the funds for sure, Don't just do a runner as it messes things up for the rest of the expat community as companies such as pccw etc will then start asking for hefty deposits etc from new subscribers. Best bet is to advertise somewhere and try and see if somebody is willing to take over your contract.

Point taken Jimbo. You are right. I just felt upset at being roped into a contract in the first place when I knew and told PCCW etc that I may not be able to stay the duration.
