Where is the technology area in HK?

Hi,

Was just wondering if there's an area in HK with loads of computers/techie shops, similar to tottenham court road in London or akihabara in Tokyo? I'll be in HK in around 3 weeks and I'll be looking to buy a new laptop, hopefully some of the shops have english speaking assistants? I've had a look on google but mostly I just get that causeway bay is the shopping area but that seems to be more for clothes and stuff, no info about a dedicated area for techie stuff.

Thanks

Shamshuipo, Ap Liu Street.

But be aware that a lot of equipment sold in HK doesn't come with worldwide warranties so you need to be very explicit if that is part of your requirement.

Don't count on Ap Liu for laptops etc. I'd recommend Wanchai Computer Center, or the Windsor House Computer center in Causeway Bay.

Thanks guys, I'll check out those places when I arrive. Worldwide guarantee isn't a big issue, I'm hopefully going to be staying permanently in HK anyway

funny, i just bought my laptop from the US cuz it was far cheaper than buying it here. bought a dell 9400 through a reseller for about $5000 less than buying it through dell hk. got windows media center edition on it too...not available through dell hk. i go down to wanchai computer center for all my accessories n peripherals though.
