You're talking about the place next door, which is called Assaf... I haven't been into there.

Yeah .. avoid Assaf ... the worst Kebabs I've ever had. Not sure how you can have a bad day if you're dishing out kebabs... they were pretty bad.

Being from the region, I disagree. Assaf makes decent kebabs, especically compared to all the indian owned "grab and go" joints in soho and LKF (which have more fat than meat in their kebabs). I havent tried Beirut or Beyrouth but Habibi can hold its own ($60 decent sized lunch sets which are still much bigger portions than what you get for that price in any of the zillion 'western' food lunch sets places in the area).

As far Turkish restaurants, I have only been to Merhaba on Knutsford terrace in TST and must say I was quite dissapointed. Overpriced, not authentic, and the decent decor is not enough to save it. If you know any other one, please let me know.

Where did Zahra's owners go?

I loved the food at Zahra. My wife and I lived on the same block on Lockhart Road and went through the whole menu. Great memories!

Does anyone know where the owners went? Did they leave Hong Kong? Such wonderful people. I'd travel for their food.
