indonesia over xmas

i'm thinking of doing 10 to 14 days in indonesia - bali, lombok ...

what's the cheapest airline to fly there over the xmas period.

are there any beaches or places that people can recommend or advise to avoid.

i'm on a backpacking budget as a lone traveller as always.
