| Delia 1. I would say it is almost impossible for you kids to go to Delia from DB. It will take one hour for a single trip, which meas they should spent 2 hours everday for commute. I beileve you don't want this. 2. My kids are 8 and 5 yrs old and the curriculum is OK for them so far. 3. As for the cummute, Taikoo shing, the area where the Delia School is located, is perfect and I know that there is large Japanese community there i.e. Uni, Justco, etc. Also, the rental is reasonable. FYI, they offers school tour every Tuesday. Prior appointment is required. Cheers, Sol |

| What nationalities are represented at Delia school? We are American and would like to be with a nice international mix. My children are 9, 6 qnd nearly 3 and we are looking for a school for January. Would you say the curriculum is challenging? Do the teachers seem well educated? Is the environment nurturing? Was admission difficult? Where do you live? Where do most of the other students live? We still do not know where we will live, as we need to find a school. thanks! | Hi, Inprov, I hope this helps. What nationalities are represented at Delia school? -> Around 1/3 of the students are Japanese, others are Korean, Indian, Chinese and a few them are from western countries. I would say most of them are non-native English speaking students. Would you say the curriculum is challenging? -> In terms of curriculum, since my kids have been with Delia only a couple of months, it is premature for me to comment. Do the teachers seem well educated? Is the environment nurturing? -> All of the teachers are qualified under Canadian standards. My impression is that they are kind to the kids. My kids like their school so far. Was admission difficult? -> I wasn't, but I heard that recently there are more and more expats in HK so there are waiting list for some grades (maybe for your first kid) Where do you live? Where do most of the other students live? -> I live in the Belcher's in Pok Fu Lam (west side of the island). There are many Delia students here, but lots of Delia students live in Taikoo Shing where Delia is located. It take 25 minutes from here to Delia by school bus. | Any school that has to advertise themselves on TV is a school I would worry about. Like Delia school of Canada. I cringe everytime the ad comes on TV. Students that graduate from ESF schools tend to go further to the best Universities in the world in comparison to Delia schools. If it is quality you are looking for, an ESF or international school like Hong Kong International School will do. HKIS has many American expats but all international schools lately in HK are getting incredibly mixed. (which is great). If living in DB you will find most kids there go to ESF schools on HK island GSIS HKIS and of course for primary kids the DB school in DB |

| >> Any school that has to advertise themselves on TV is a school I would worry about All private schools advertise some what now unless demand > their capacity, then they have no intention to do more but they will still do it to increase the number of applicants too. i would not attribute this to the school quality. But i too think that TV ad is not a good channel for a school. They should consider other advertising channels instead. |

| I have several students who study at Delia in TaiKoo. The teachers have gone out of their way to communicate with me (as a private tutor) and help their students along. So far I have found the teaching staff to be very competent, friendly and extremely helpful. They teach from a Canadian based curriculum which is of a good world standard. The students vary and I have found that out of the schools that I deal with, they have been the most interested in the individual students rather than maintaining the school reputation. The children are also some of the most friendly and polite (unlike other schools that I have been to as a supply/extracurricular teacher). These are just my impressions. |
