Does anyone know roughly how much taxi ride costs from Tai Tam to Central? Also, for the developments that have shuttle buses, usually how early do they start running and what time do they stop? I"m trying to figure out whether it's practical to live there. Thanks.

I'm wondering about a similar question - does anyone know how difficult it is to order or hail taxis from Tai Tam? I'm wondering if it's the kind of area that taxis won't want to go into to pick up?

Absolutely no problem to catch a cab in Tai Tam. Tons of taxis all day.

Thank you, that's very encouraging to hear.

I'd welcome any comments from people who have lived or are living in Tai Tam/Shek O, on the pros and cons of that area.

I'm very attracted by the beauty of the area but concerned about relative remoteness from Central and lack of general facilities. Could I live there comfortably and conveniently without owning a car?
