Latin American Food

Moving to Hong Kong soon and looking forward to enjoying the resturants.

However, I was curious if there are any good latin american resturants (NOT tex-mex!). Argentinian, Chilean, Brasilian, that sort of thing.

Thanks.

Latino food

Number of places for Argentinian steaks . Try La Pampas in Soho. 32 B Staunton Street. Great steaks if you don't mind Argentinian beef.

For Brazilian try Samba on the Midlevels escalator at 17 A Shelley street. Little homely place, good on good days. Also I think Shop 7 at Knutsford Steps, Miramar Shopping Center in TST.

I hear there's also a place called Brazil BBQ at 38 Lock Road, Tsim Sha Tsui
Tel 2721 4689. But I've never been there so no idea if it's good or even if it exists today

For Cuban, try Havana Bar & Grill on Elgin Street in Soho. And Club Havana at 3/F Knutsford Steps, 10 Knutsford Terrace, TST. The first one is decent and expensive and possibly a cool place to be in if you like the ambience. No idea about the second one

For Portugese food, really great Portugese food, try Henri's or A Lorcha or several others in Macau.

Then there's the weird combination of Sichuan and Latin American fusion at Lumiere in IFC 2. Best of luck for that one

I think they've closed up shop recently

The one on Lock St. still exists and serves pretty good churasco / rodizio. They did have a branch open in Causeway Bay as well, close to Vic Park.

Something over 2 years ago! And they were never particularly Brazilian in the first place - it did bizarre combinations of food to an almost entirely local clientele.
