Hi, does anybody know any inexpensive but good yakitori restos in HK? And no, Nanbantei doesn't count. In Japan, yakitori is served in izakayas which are informal bars where workers go to drink and eat after office hours. So basically, I'm looking for places such as these.

Damn I miss izakayas - I used to spend 3 nights out of 5 in those damned places There's a place called Hanagushi in Lang Kwai Fang. I can't personally recomend it but others have said it's quite good. BTW what's wrong with Nanbantei?

New Yakitori Joint in LKF I like "barbarians" on King Kwong Road in Happy Valley as well as "Yakitori-tei" on Tsing Woo Road in Happy Valley. But the really cool thing is the new (4 months old) yakitori/japanese counter bar that opened up in LKF. Can't remember the name but it's actually on Lan Kwai Fong road, towards the bottom of the road...the yakitori is good (though expensive for what you get) but the environment is as close to Japanese as you can get in HK.
