In reply to my own question and to help anyone next year. I rocked up (desperately hungover) at 9am and was already 1005th in the que. They were sold out about 5 mins after i picked mine up. i think about 1150th was probably last to get them...though not sure. I would suggest 8.30 am next year and bring your PSP or a book. I had to sit and restrain myself from linching some drunks in the stands for 4 hours. No i don't have spares..and yes i still need to get more....good luck though

There will be plenty on offer in the week or two before the event and from the touts outside the ground (at a premium). Alternatively, I expect Cathay to start offering packages with flights from various countries shortly so you should be able to get some that way, combined with a weekend away somewhere.

bought them last year one hour after the event started (at the gate) at a lower price than the advertised one cos the touts needed to sell them or loose them.....

In fact possibly sooner when people realise (as I have just done) that the entire stadium is now a non-smoking area, which means that if anyone wants to smoke they are going to have to go right outside the ground, getting re-entry passes and all that stuff every time they want one (not just out onto the concourses away from the seats as has been the case previously). That is going to create some really not very happy people...

where or how should i look for tickets one or two weeks before the event? Classifieds? thanks for your replies so far guys. I have thought of getting a CX package from singapore but the cost just adds up too high. Got to buy 2 trips of tickets as CX requires u to travel SIN/HKG/SIN if not you are not entitled. Thus it will cost like over HK$6000 just to get the rugby 7 tickets through that way.

CX has RT tickets to SIN for about HK$1100+ taxes these days, so not quite that much. But yes, it only makes sense if you actually get some value by having a weekend break in SIN, MNL or wherever. Tickets tend to get advertised by people on boards such as this one. I believe it was from someone who posted on a thread here that I got my tickets last year. (Although it might have been one of the other boards)

Sevens Tickets I am sure everyone has their price. Will you be willing to pay a premium price or are you hoping to score some face value tickets?
