Lammarite is correct. I have a Designers Night Out once a month. Currently it is mostly Industrial/Product Designers and Design Research people. I am not against opening it up to the whole world except that it takes me enough time to find a restaurant for 24 people.

I am hoping that the creative community could have several get togethers so that we can cross pollinate and also so that it does not become the same group all the time.

What do you think?

Hi Tim,

A sensible approach. Personally, I like Tim's gatherings because people are from areas of design outside my own. Interesting to share ideas with different creative types, particularly in an informal setting. At the same time, I would prefer to limit these to people that are actively making some kind of art, music or design as that's the whole point of this, yeah?

The way i see it is ... as long as you are interested in art, music, design and you think you will have some creative input then do come along. n no worries, those businessmen in their suits wouldnt be able to put up with our arty farty conversation and drinking cheap boost on the roof top lol not in the summer anyway...

Well really! Talk about stereotype. Yes, it would be great to meet up with like minded people who work in the same industry etc. but I don't believe in excluding people. As far as I'm concerned anyone who express interest in anything creative are more than welcome to come along. AND they don't need to wear a smock.

I mean, how are you going to 'censor' people who turn up? Give them a pencil or plonk them in front of photoshop?
