TDG is on a distinguished road
My Weak Arms

I have no arm mucles, i can't even do a pushup.

I weigh about 65 kgs and am 17.

Can any of you please provide me with some help on how to build up within the next 4 months.

I at least want to be able to do a pushup. Should i just keep trying or do some work on my biceps first?

Should i get weights? Or a punching bag?

I have no idea about this topic please help me!

Ben

Ben, I suggest you get yourself some dumbells. Get the kind that allow you to add weight progressively. See if someone can help you get 'em home...maybe your dad? You're gonna have to eat your arse off too mate...when I was 14 I put on a good 12 kg in 3 months from lifting weights and eating all day...I went from a skinny eakling to one of the strongest kids in my year!

Start with 10 curls with the heaviest weight you can manage every other day Keep your back straight and don't forget to breath. hopefully 3-4 weeks after that you'll be able to do pushups. PM me if you have any questions....

see...my first question would be: what is in 4 weeks? or, what is so important that you must "buff up" in 4 weeks?

thats like saying: hey...im poor, and i am 21, what is the best way to make 1 million dollars in 4 weeks? (the answer for those who want to know: sell your body!)

if you want to become toned, which is what i suggest...then just start joggin, or swimming, or doing some basic excercies. dont try to be "tough." being tough is too easy. its being nicely toned thats hard to do.

Forgive the garbled message above, I was posting from my PDA while perched precariously on the end of a seat on a bus...lol

Swimming is great but it's not the best way to build strength. What you need to do is start lifting weights....light at first but progressively heavier. If you can't do a pushup you might have some medical issues too...your doctor might be able to prescribe some kind of hormone to help you out. When I was in high school there was a kid who got human growth hormone from his GP...

listen to Jay. He knows what he is talking about. He's covered the fundamental points.

With all due respect, I suggest you not take the advise given by mattstewart.

Key points:

1. FOOD 6 X a day...lots high protein high CARBS. Eat Carbs before bed if you wanna put on weight.

2. Exercises incl: what juay said plus pull ups. Pull ups (wide/narrow) are compouynd exercises, utilises groups of muscle thus alleviates body's testosterone which is essential to grow.

google:
Flat Bench press
military press
pull ups (wide/narrow)
Squats
Dadlifts

But to honest....i dont think you are commited enough.... not many people are.....including me .......its hard to get into the regime but once uv got the ball rolling, its a lot easier.

Regards
GT1.

wow...ok...4 months is much better than 4 weeks...but still...why the rush?
nothing of value comes in quick time....or something like that

and swimming is one of the easiest ways to build strength and tone....it works nearly every muscle in your body...and if you do it for a long time eeach day...or regularly like you would lifting weights...its much better for the average person...

its not gonna make you look like arnold swartzenikfdshgvkjhsvger (i think thats how you spell his name) but it will make you cut and fit as hell

heh...thanks GT1, but if he can't do a pushup he's not gonna be able to do pullups. he needs to get his arm strength up before he can even think about compound exercises. swimming is great for toning but this guy needs STRENGTH...swimming hits your fast twitch vs. your slow twitch muscle fibers...if he wants to be able to do pushups he has to increase his arm strength with weights first. alternatively he could do standing pushups against a wall first...he could stand upright at first and then progressively get lower down the wall as his strength increases..then eventually go horizontal

once you can do a good number of pushups, definitely add the pullups.
