Exclamation Spywares beware and virus

There're spywares that my spybot simply can't detect, and can't block their popup windows, like this problem webpage b.casalemedia. I was surfing this morning, opening several IE windows when one popped up saying "If your computer is running slowly, probably it is infected with spywares" and asking me to download and so on. I enlarged that window and realized it's a private webpage and closed it immediately.

The other day there's a pop-up window about new flashplayer download. I thought it's from Windows and downloaded it. I've just uninstalled it, I hope it's the one I downloaded.

Btw, these days my computer just blacks out, sometimes up to 3 times soon after I've turned it on. Can it be virus-infected? I've run spybot and anti-virus but everything seems fine.

Take a look at this site:

http://wiki.castlecops.com/MRP

This is where u can learn about some of the malware removal programs and get started. If you have further problems u will want to download a program by the name of HijackThis! from this same site. Then post your log here:

http://castlecops.com/f67-Hijackthis...ans_Oh_My.html

Within 5 days someone will reply with things u should remove. Never remove things yourself with Hijackthis as it is a powerful tool.

Once it is done your computer will be clean as a whistle. Only thing left to do is purge your system restore points to make sure it doesn't return. (turn off system restore and then turn back on)

And try and move over to Mozilla as soon as possible. Been running it for almost 2 years now and my pop ups and spyware has reduced to almost nil.

Thanks, HK chigger and nation. I'll try with mozilla first, since I'm afraid of too powerful things. Btw HK chigger, since you're leaving, All the best to you. Bon voyage.

Btw, Do you think blacking out is a sign of virus?

Mozilla (same as Firefox) won't fix any current problems you have with your machine but once your computer is fixed it will help preventing future problems. I'm far on expert on the computer things but it does sound like your blanking out problem is virus related.

by the way IT Security is my line of work. i can definitely help you out with this. and nation is right. Firefox won't fix your problem, it will just reduce it from happening due to IE's numerous flaws

Get a system restore program also, like norton ghost, or other simillar solutions.
Then reinstall everything and unplug the network cable first.
Run the ghost program and next time you have trouble al you have to do is restart the computer with the ghost backupdisk and its good as new.
And a good alaround protection that doesnt cost a bundle and is easy to use is System suite 6, iw used it for years, and i love it, its got everything one needs.

If I understand tall/dude and nation's points about Mozilla correctly, you are both saying that it is better to run on that than Explorer as it will avoid pop ups, etc. Is this correct? I have both on my system but I keep forgetting and go back to Explorer.

Thanks.
