Where do expat doctors meet in Hong Kong?

My husbands job brought us to Hong Kong and currently I am not working. In the UK I was a doctor a GP to be precise but I will not be able to practice medicine until I have taken the exam in November 2007. Help, I am rapidly going out of my mind, I am used to working and talking to medics and you can only do so much shopping!! Is there anywhere that I can become involved even if it is just at a social level.

A few of us are on an ahem career break so we do meet up on a regular basis if you need somebody to talk to during the day etc.

I know how you feel as I'm going through the same thing having come here 6 months ago.

If you don't mind talking to "non-medics", then we have so many get togethers coming up....why don't you join us - you will get to meet people from various backgrounds, having one thing in common - respect for one another, affection, sincere and genuine friendship but most of all the need to touch base in a foreign land.

Welcome aboard!!

Warm regards,

Rubina.

Thanks and apologies for delayed response

Sorry for delay in responding - I haven't vanished into the ether it was just my computer which decided to malfunction!! Thank you so much for your replies and I may well be back in touch. Latest news is that I think there may be a possibility of taking the exam this year. Fingers crossed as I really would love to be back in harness.
