| I am currently looking for a good Putonghwa program in China. I have heard many times about "learn Mandarin in prestigious University for free as you teach English in Beijing". I feel the need of learning Putonghwa and am considering to invest some period of my life to explore living in China. Hence, being in the classroom with good quality of people will be important. I searched around the web but, there are too many options and, I could not distinguish the good ones. Also, I heard horrible stories about fictitious institutions built to eat the deposit or kidnap... I am 31 years old female CPA from NY with 7yrs of B4 experience. It will be great if I can work & make $$ but, I'm quite fed up with long corporate working hours. Hence, as long as I make enough to stay free in China while I have the flexibility to travel around and efficiently learn Chinese, I will be happy. What I was actually looking for was complete package program that offers: 1. high quality Chinese language courses 2. teaching English obligation to cover up the cost of living & Chinese classes Have you ever heard of the program? I looked up on Peking University but, it seemed to require headache procedures with high living costs. I'm sure once I attend school there, there will be lots of teaching opportunity I can find on the bulletine board. But, I figured it will be much easier if there is a concrete program that already built the structure. Also, if know of any: what kind of people would I expect to have in the classroom: expats, ABCs, students, staying home mothers, etc.? Any idea? |
