Hi, my hubby's posted to HK this May. We are looking at an apartment at One Beacon Hill, anyone knows anything about it? Is there reasonably priced shopping there as I know cost of living as very high in HK and I do not want to spend on expensive grocery. Thks!

I just visited Beacon Hill in April, but before I tell you how wonderful it is I need to know if One Beacon Hill is that new development. They have a new one going up and I am just not sure of the name. Don't want to point you down the wrong hill.

My frd lives in One Beacon Hill. It is a nice place to live there. There is a shopping mall Festival Walk (near Kowloon Tong MTR Station). U can get groceries and many things there.
I guess the one underconstruction mentioned by Sleuth is Mt. Beacon.

Yes, it's One Beacon Hill. Been up for about a year I heard. I think it's a relatively new apartment and there's a few constructions around it.

Okay, that is where I visited. Very nice apartments, close to Festival Walk Mall, the KCR and the MTR. You can get apartments that back up on the hillside so that you have nothing but green out your windows or you can opt for the city view. Our realtor said that the new development is going to be really expensive and that would raise the rents in the area. Not sure if that was a technique to get us to commit earlier or not. If you like the area but want to look at other places, try Parc Palais.

We visited Parc Palais too. But there were no good units, though the facilities are really good.
