Mongolian visa in Hong Kong?

Hey there, everyone getting excited about 7s?

Anyway I have small dilemma, going to visit a pal working in Mongolia at the end of April and I can't for the life of me work out where to go to get a Mongolian visa in Hong Kong. Has anyone done this? I'm not going through a travel agent so any pointers in the right direction would be awesome.

thanks if you can help, HB

Geoexpat has the details: http://www.geoexpat.com/resources/ho...golia/details/

But what passport do you hold? Certain countries do not need visas for Mongolia: (This must be one of the only places in the world which is easier for a Philippines passport holder to get into than an EU one!)

List of countries and regions with non-visa
Regime for all types of passport holders

1. USA- no visa for all type of passport holders, including A, H, J visas within 90 days.
2. Hong Kong - 14 days for all type of passports. There is no visa fee for diplomatic and official passports. Ordinary passport holders pay visa fee if they travel for more than 14 days.
3. Israel - 30 days for all type of passports
4. Kazakhstan - 90 days for all type of passports
5. Malaysia - 1 month for all type of passports
6. Philippines - 21 days for all type of passports
7. Singapore - 14 days for all type of passports

In the event that the consulate information is out of date then this page:
http://www.mongoliatourism.gov.mn/in...d=17&Itemid=48
seems to indicate that you can get a visa on arrival...

Thanks so much PDLM - really really appreciate. Have Oz passport, so out of luck with the no need for a visa. Looking into the airport option and as it seems there is no consulate in HK I am looking at the option of posting my passport to Sydney to be approved.... quite a tricky one. Thx again

Why don't you check out:

Honorary Consulate General of Mongolia
4 Sommerset Road
Kowloon
Hong Kong
Tel: (+852) 23389034

I am sure you can apply for a travel visa there or, they will at least answer your questions. Would be a bit risky to assume you can get the visa upon arrival at the airport.

For all those billions of expats in HK going to Mongolia....all visas through HK have been suspended until the 25th April 2006. After that you can get one through:
