Question Dual Layered Discs

Can you write regular data to DVD-9? By regular data, this means not vob/fob files.......

How would the layer break work with regular data? I keep on getting errors with the software I am using and am building up a large collection of coasters....

Does anyone have any experience here..... ????

Hello Nutta! I'm sure you can mate. What software are you using to burn with and what speed are you trying to burn at? Are you trying to do other stuff while burning?

Try using Nero instead, that's what I use. Could be your PC too. I like to leave my computer alone while burning...you get a lot fewer frisbees that way..and yes, we're still doing the reggae thing

Well its just nicer to have three or four series on one disc.....plus when backing up DVDs, you can notice pixelation from the compression on flat screen TVs, which is why I try to avoid DVD9 > DVD5

i see...didn't know about the pixelation. very interesting! they're still fo0kin expensive though. I use single layers for backups, but i think i'll stick to external hard disks now for my data storage needs....

Shrinking a movie that was originally on a dual layer to fit on a single layer will significantly degrade the quality.

Any idea how much dual layers go for these days?
