What kind of advice do you need? A lot of us are pretty knowledgeable about exercise, even if we don't work in the industry

Question

Fitness equipment? Why dont you tell us what your goal is? Need to know what you want to achieve before advise can be given in terms of machinary (sp?).

For example if you want to put on muscle mass then free weights
if you want to loose weight and tone = rower etc......

cheers

The theory is quiet simple: to lose weight you have to burn more calories than you consume. So a good diet is essential!

Diet:
Try eating less and more often to keep your metabolism going
Watch the amount of carbs you have. Try and carb out after 18.00.
Eat breakfast! Your daily metabolism doesnt kick in till you have your first meal.
Eat low Glycemic Index (G.I) food such as brown rice, bread, oats.
Obviously eat plenty of veg and fruit.

Training:
High Intensive Interval Training (HIIT) is very good to keep your body's metabolism rate high...but a bit hard core.
Weight training also keeps metabolism high post workout (WO).
Try and work continuously for at least 30mins at a pace that will make you break a sweat.... My theory is to train hard, then train harder.
The rower machine is probably the best one as it is the most holistic machine, tones aswell as increases your fitness level.
Weight training: do 3 sets of 10 reps, higher reps lower weight utilises slow twitch fibers thus improves your stamina.

train at least 3/4 times a week and train hard. Ease yourselves into your regime if you haven't trained for a while...listen to your body!

Its hard work and you have to commit. If you are going to do it, then do it properly cos theres no point otherwise.

Thats all i can think of at the mo...brain dead

http://www.biofit.com.hk/eg/main.htm ... their online catalogue isn't really complete, but u can always drop by one of their stores. there is one in ocean terminal.

they can recommend equipment for ur level / budget. i believe they stock the more common (amateur) items, but they can order gym-level stuff for you if you'd like, though shipping takes about 3 months from the US.

i used them for my home gym, elliptical trainer + professional weight bench + weights + foam carpeting. their prices are quite competitive, and i think you can get 10% off with some top-tier credit cards right now.
