| Hey Guys, I have just signed a lease contract, now my comany asked me to go to europe and work there. The contract is for 13 months and i havn't even moved in yet (it's gonna start april 1). So i would really like to know if anyone knows a way how i to get out of the contract?? Coz obviously i don't wanna pay the rent as i won't be in hkg. Thank you so much |

| It's too bad, MOP. Assuming you have paid the rental deposits and first months rent, the only way is perhaps have a frank talk with the landlord to cancel the lease, and hopefully to get a full or partial refund. Usually, a landlord will not mind if you can get a replacement tenant, but how can you get one in a rush? Else, your company should compensate you. |

| Your best bet is to try and talk with your landlord, even offer (or have the company offer) to pay for an agent to find someone for the place. We had a similar situation where we recalled and had to break a lease. At first the landlord was a real jerk, but we managed to have an agent intervene and we got off just paying the agent fee (50% of one months rent). The landlord got a new tennant in less than a week, at a higher rent so they were happy. |

| Thank you so much guys. I finally got rid of the contract but had to pay the agent's commision.. (they gave me a cheaper price after bargaining lol) |
