Gym rat questions

Hello all,

New here, so be gentle. This is a very interesting and helpful site!

Anyway, enough of the pleasentries, Im a brit thats just moved to HK and am just working as a Native english teacher. (not what i want to do!)

Does anyone know of any good shops to buy protein shakes? where the cheapest place is and the brands they have and the cost of them...preferably the 5lb tub.

Also, any good gyms close to Tung Chung? and any good HK sport/fitness/bodybuilding forums for talking to like minded people?

Thanks peeps,

GT1

I don't have any experience in this protein field, anyway there is a shop in Prudential Hotel shopping mall selling imported protein pills and powder for body builders.

hi gt1,

Try Nature's Village. There's one in Causeway Bay, Central and Tsim Sha Tsui and Tsuen Wan.

There's also American Nutrition in Central (Lyndhurst Terrace by the esculators).

Mind you, you'll find the prices a bit dissapointing. I think it's a little bit more expensive here than back home.

You could try visiting the larger franchise gyms like California and Pure who have supplements and clothing for sale.

Hi gt1. You can try Nature's Village, it's what I use. The prices are decent, starting at HK$280 for 5lb (2.whatever kg for you brits). It also sells creatine, which you should be using if you want to bulk up. Tsuen Wan and Mong Kok are probably the most convenient locations for you. I find it hard to get enough protein here, so protein powder a must.

Nah Jay, GNC is overpriced, have poor quality protein products and the staff aren't too knowledgeable.
