Dependant Visa Policy Change????

Hi, I have been told by a couple of different people that the current policy of the immigration dept. regarding dependant's not allowed to work is going to change. Can anyone clarify or confirm this rumour??? Thx.

You can read this thread, there are many links also posted, related to ur query. i guess that will clarify your doubt.

Today's SCMP

Hi. Michael Tien wrote an article in today's (28 March) SCMP. He wrote that the rules for dependant visas has changed.

Well if it was in the SCMP then it must be true...

It's by James Tien (not Michael); it talks primarily about the QMAS scheme for visas not linked to specific sponsors, but also says, in passing, "We applaud the reversal of the 2003 ban on spouses of newly arrived expatriates working here."

The decision has been made, but the implemenation date has not yet been announced. He is applauding the decision.
