im going there this friday, and i want to get a hold of a DS Lite for myself, so how much is it there?

is the DS lite easy to find in samshuipo?

is there a difference bettween US and JAP version?

No difference between US and Japanaese version but the us one comes with a 110 Volt charger, so u'll need to buy an extra one, around 20HK$ I think.
U can also have it modified to play copies, mmh sorry, back ups

Ah yes there is don't worry that shouldn't be a problem, especially in shamshuipo, u should be able to get your favorite colour etc.

i don't know where u are getting 1500 from. i paid 1750 2 weeks ago. It's not all hyped up to be. only reason is mario cart with ppl online and w/ my pro in canada. once u have a psp i don't think u can go back in terms of graphics.

I paid $1760 for my DS Lite yesterday in Wanchai. Impulse buy. Wish I had consulted here before, i'm new to HK and never heard of Shamshuipo. Guess I had better make a trip up there.

I disagree with Takeanu. I also have PSP and while I agree that the graphics are superior, it comes at a huge price in terms of gameplay. It takes foreover to load up games and I don't know one game that you can play infrastructure mode. Adhoc is fun but it's too hard to gather friends together. In comparison, Nintendo's online games such as MarioKart and now Metroid Prime are unbelievably fun and so easy to setup. Each have their pros and cons and I'm fortunate (spoiled) to have both. I don't think it's anyone's place to say which one is better.

hi, i'm looking to buy a DS lite. I asked at SSP and they say aorund $1000 for the machine on its own. But if i want to get a package buy (memory card, game etc) what price range should i be looking at? And also what do you want to be looking to buy, whats important to have?

Also I've seen a mate of mine that has one and she says you can download games online for free. Is this true? Do you need to get your machine chipped or something?

Sorry for the questions but desperately want one but desperately dont want to be ripped off.

Well my friend paid $1,800 for the hong version for which you don't need to buy another plug to alter the voltage, This is only slightly more expensive than the shui version where you have to buy a seperate adaptor. This is what she got with her modded white DSlite

white handstrap and xtra stylus,
She got EzFlash iv Lite
Micro SD I Gig
White Dummy card
Screen Protector (best to ask them put in on)
Free white soft case

If its modded then you can play downloaded games.
