Unhappy Bills! Bills! Bills!

Will having bills interfere with my acquiring a dependent visa? I owe student loans and some credit card debt. I am worried! Can anyone give me an idea if it will keep me from getting the dependent visa?

Your finances are not an issue. Its the ability of your sponsor to support you while you're in HK.

The govt is not going to ask you for your loans and credit card debt.

hello

Your finances are a issue when you are apply for a dependant visa. The immigration department will look at your spouses and your own current savings and income.

Bankruptcy

I'm working two jobs to pay off my bills (which aren't my fault, but isn't that beside the point?) but what if I were to go bankrupt? If I'm moving out of the country it obviously wouldn't matter in the long run. I know it seems like I'm considering an easy way out, but working two jobs and trying to graduate in a year is harder than you might now. So bottom line: Bankruptcy ruin my chances for a dependent visa or is it only the spouse's income/savings that we're worried about? ~Tymothe
