Prize Question :Looking for bargain Hotel to stay !? :)winner enjoys Italian wine

Hoping someone can help us out here,
because we're caught on last second notice to stop over in Hong Kong for two nights (29-31 March), and would love to avoid blowing our bugget.
Haven't got a clue which area is best suited for finding a descent room for two, in the sub-1000 HKD range, yet not too far out of shopping range (especially Jewellery/ electronics)

Any tips would be greatly appreciated, winner gets a bottle of good Italian wine !!!

thanks,
Joe & Denise

You've picked a very expensive time to come - that is HK Sevens week, which ramps up the prices of a lot of the hotels...

Why don't you give Priceline a go? You would probably want to be looking for a hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui (TST).

I don't think you will find anything non flea bag for under 1000 during high season. Be careful abt staying in old cheap places as the mold growth can make you very ill since we are now experiencing higher than normal winter humidity.

I don't drink wine, even if I'm Italian, anyway you can try Dorsett Seaview in Shanghai street - Yaumatei MTR, close to jewelleries in Nathan road and computer shops in Mongkok.
Rooms are small and basic, but should be cheap.
