| | | HKBN or Netvigator? Hi all,
I'm tempted to sign up for HKBN's bb100 broadband service, but from what I've seen on this forum some people have had a bad experience with HKBN.
On the face of it, HKBN's package is far better than anything else in the same price range, plus there's no committment to sign up for x number of months.
But I'm a bit concerned about the complaints I've read - I can't live with an unreliable network as I'll be working from home - so should I go for one of Netvigator's plans instead?

| | | Have you sorted out where you're going to live? HKBN's bb100 is not available in several locations. | |

| | | I couldn't even find any information on HKBN's services in English... As soon as you click on their internet services link, it takes you to a chinese page
Don't forget, 100 mbps will only really be that fast on HKBN's internal network. Any other local sites will be upstream capped, and transfering from other countries will be just as slow on a 100 mb connection as it would on a 1 mb connection pretty much.

| | I'll be living in Sheung Wan - and god knows if bb100 will be available there as, like lowlight correctly spotted, all their info is in chinese
Maybe just better to go with anglo-friendly Netvigator...

| | Good thing I didn't go with HKBN then
Ended up going with Hutchison GC as it was already wired into the building - only took a few days to get installed. Got 10m for $124 monthly on a 12-month contract.

| | Oops it was an 18-month contract...
But it's a dedicated 10m VDSL line - works a treat, except I have to go shopping for a new wireless modem/router as my old one was for ADSL only...you live and learn!
This is the deal I went with: http://www.hgcbroadband.com/runner_e/index_e.html

| | | Apparently, I can still opt out of my new netvigator contract for the next few days so ... how is the HGC service? Do you use their landline too? | | Tools | Search | | | | | Rate This Thread | | | All times are GMT +8. The time now is 09:21 AM. | |
