Personal Trainer Career in Hong Kong

Hello everyone, I am new to this and so will be working in Hong Kong.

To intro myself I was born in HK but moved to Syd when I was little so to some extend I consider myself not very chinese. I will have to move back to HK very soon and don't know where/how I can get a job. I've done Petroleum Engineering and it's just IMPOSSIBLE to get a job in this field. I personally love to get fit so was thinking about being a personal trainer in Hong Kong.

Anyone know anything in this industry in HK that they can share? Any help is good~~ Thanks~~

All the big gyms such as pure, fitness first, california etc will have personal trainers but it'll help you of course if you're qualified and speak both canto and english.

Oh of course when I say I wanna become a trainer I will get my qualification. They offer coiurses in Syd wihich takes two weeks but a lot of the subjects teach people how to run a good business which is not really what I want. So i've seen this course in Hong Kong which is a 5 days intensive course and they claim student can become a trainer straight away when qualified. Sure I will continue to specilised in things like boxing etc if that is what I wanted to change to. Thanks for yoru input anyways~~ Cheers~~

To be honest I don't really know. I guess like everything it depends on experience etc. If you are able to get a few clients and they are willing to spend the money then I think it should be ok. You would hope the clients will spread the words for you if you are good enough. However I don't know what is the deal with the gym. Need to check that up.
