My husband and I will be moving out to HK next year. I have a job there however as yet my husband hasn't. Are there any problems with him coming out as a dependent on my work visa? I ask this because I was unsure if dependant only refered to wife & children or does it refer to both genders?
You as a sponsor will need to show suitable proof of (1) actual dependency, and (2) evidence of the sponsor’s ability and willingness to support the applicant’s dependency as required by the immigration officer.
Usually all you need a marraige cert / proof of your income.

sounds like your husbands in the same situation that I'm in...my wife has a job offer, but I have to find work once I get there...this is apparently pretty difficult as the dependants visa does not give your husband the right to work...he still has to find someone to sponsor his work visa...something that I have found rather difficult so far.
