I'm planning to visit HK in April and was wondering where I could find Cantonese CDs and movies for a good price... I'm from NY and finding older CDs and movies are quite hard sometimes. I'm mostly interested in finding Ekin Cheng items currently because it is my most recent addiction.

Also, are there any suggestions for good shopping anywhere than the basic tourist spots?

Mongkok is the best place to go, Plenty of places out there and the vcd's etc are cheap.

Give me a shout nearer the time when you're over here and I can show you.

The shops i've been to in Mong Kok all sold authentic copies at prices so good you don't need to pirate!

Actually, you can find most of the old movies everywhere at Kowloon or HK side. Just go to one of those VCD or DVD stores and you will be suprised by the collection they have. Prices range from 20HKD to higher up. For old movies (I used to collect them once in my lifetime), they have pretty all the same price: 20 HKD. That will be VCD.

For music CD's you should go to Mongkok yep. Shops are hidden in crowded shopping area. If you can read chinese, it should be no problem for you to find those stores. Otherwise, ask a guide or spend a whole day spinning around in Mongkok!

TT2003: Euuhh....haven't been to Sino center for a long time, but .....don't they only sell III/18+ and pirate stuff? Glittergrl might be shocked!!!
