Can you fly direct from Hong Kong to Taichung?

Any tips on flights, hotels, etc regarding this city in Taiwan would be appreciated.

No you can't - the only places in Taiwan to which you can fly directly from HK are Taipei and Kaohsiung.

Since posting my original question, I telephoned my friend in Taichung and it seems some confusion has taken place. She originally said she takes the bus from the airport and it stops near his house. Now I have found out important extra bit of info and that is the bus actually comes the airport in Taipei.

All sorted in the end.
