The morning TV news talks about millionaires in HK - people who have more than 1 million of floating cash. Millionaires in HK are getting younger and most of them live on HK Island, many live in the New Territories, and the least of them live in Kowloon. 1 in 7 persons on HK Island is a millionaire, Wow.

They were only talking about HK$ millionaire, not US$. I expect that covers most expats who have been here 5 years or more unless they are seriously spendthrift...

As Hemlock pointed out, if we were in Vietnam we'd only need US$ 62 (HK$ 487) to be a millionaire!! Kinda reminds me of a trip to Bali where you need a massive wad of notes in your wallet just for a night out!
